KATHY ABUSOW

Kathy Abusow is president and CEO of SFI Inc., the fully independent, non-profit organization responsible for the SFI program, which encompasses almost 150 million certified acres across North America and includes more than 225 program participants.
Before joining SFI Inc. in July 2007, Kathy operated Abusow International Ltd., a successful forest certification and market acceptance consultancy for almost 15 years where she worked with the SFI program, the Canadian Standards Association, the Forest Stewardship Council and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) schemes. Kathy sits on numerous committees and she is former chair of the Society of American Foresters' Sustainability and Certification Working Group and is a member of the Canadian Forestry Association's board of directors. Kathy is also the current chair of the PEFC U.S. Governing Body. She has an undergraduate degree from McGill University and a master's degree from Harvard University with a concentration in sustainable development of natural resources.

Rick provides staff leadership in implementing, monitoring and promoting the SFI program, including budget management and human resources. He supports the SFI Standard review process, pilot projects and task forces, and serves as staff liaison for the External Review Panel and the SFI Board’s Resources Committee. Rick manages auditor accreditation, coordinates responses to complaints and deals with interpretations of SFI certification standards.

Karen works with SFI's members, customers, and non-governmental organizations governments to raise awareness of SFI forest certification through targeted marketing activities across North America. She is responsible for all marketing and communications activities at SFI and she also sits on the board of directors of the Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), a global, forest certification umbrella organization.
JASON METNICK

Jason works directly with companies in the wood and paper supply chain including forest landowners, manufacturers, merchants, lumberyards, dealers, wholesalers, printers and end users to promote the SFI program and assist with third-party forest certification and on-product labeling. He also oversees the Office of Label Use and Licensing, which administers the rules and procedures for SFI on-product label usage.

Rob works with a diversity of industry professionals within the specification, design, supply, manufacturing and building communities to promote certified wood as an integral part of the future of green building. Rob is responsible for leading SFI's sustainable construction outreach and educational initiatives, as well as driving the growth of SFI labeled products in the solid wood sector.

Allison works directly with SFI stakeholders to identify areas of potential collaboration and to partner on projects or activities of mutual interest. She tracks news and media items related to certification, and is currently responsible for SFI Inc. activities related to carbon and biomass.

Amy manages the SFI Inc headquarters office, is the main contact for general inquiries and publication requests, and is the staff liaison to the SFI Implementation Committees, SFI Inc.'s grassroots network. She organizes all SFI events such as meetings, workshops and the SFI Annual Conference and is staff liaison on all marketing and communication efforts.
